Mr. Mertz has extensive experience in the areas of development, acquisitions, dispositions, management and leasing through his 26 years in the real estate industry. He has served as President of his own management and leasing firm during the early 1980's, as Vice President of a regional development company, Chief Operating Officer of the recognized firm of Patriot American, Senior Vice President of the northeast based REIT, Mack-Cali Realty Corporation, and a Director of Cushman & Wakefield of Texas, Inc.

Mr. Mertz has primary responsibility for all the management activities of both the commercial and multi-family portfolios. In addition, Mr. Mertz works closely with the acquisitions group in sourcing, evaluating, and acquiring investment properties and now has primary responsibility for development activities in Northern Virginia.

Mr. Mertz obtained his BBA in finance from the University of Texas in Austin, and his MBA in real estate from the University of North Texas. He is a licensed Broker and has his Certified Property Manager and Certified Commercial Investment Member designations. He holds board positions with the Dallas Chapter of the NAIOP as well as Southfair Community Development Corporation, a non profit group seeking to revitalize the Fair Park community.
